Tommie Lucas, President
Tommie is one of the founders of The Coach Costello Foundation. Tommie met Coach Costello as a student at Broad Run High School. He was a mentor to her, and one of the teachers that influenced her to become a teacher herself.
When he passed, she made a promise to carry on his legacy that he laid down at BRHS and in the Ashburn community. This led to her and her husband/vice president, Mark, to establish The Coach Costello Foundation. As teachers, they know the importance of inclusion and building relationships with students and their peers. They hope they can continue to organize and fund the Coach Costello’s Field Days in Loudoun County and expand to other regions. Tommie will be in charge of communication and organizing fundraising events for The Coach Costello Foundation.
Mark Lucas, Vice President & Community Outreach
Mark is one of the founders of The Coach Costello Foundation and Tommie’s husband. Mark is a teacher at Broad Run High School and had the pleasure of working with Cos for 14 years. Mark was a basketball coach under Cos and spent many hours during and after school working with each other and their players. Mark will be in charge of communicating and gathering sponsorships for the organization.
Joe Tabatabaian, Treasurer
Joe was a basketball player and student at Broad Run High School. Him and Costello had a great student/teacher relationship during his tenure at BRHS. Joe was fortunate to golf with Costello at Lansdowne Resort in Virginia a few months before his passing. They shared their deep love of golf and sports. Joe is an incredible person who would make Costello proud to be on his team. He currently works for Carahsoft as a Sales Director. Joe will be in charge of helping organize our sponsorships and sales.
Jennifer Quinn, Community Outreach
Jennifer Quinn is Coach Costello's eldest daughter. She currently lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband and two children. Cos beamed when he spoke about Jen and her family and loved spending time with them. Jen will be helping with community outreach and act as a liaison between our organization and various demographics.
Chelsey Knarr, Events Coordinator
Chelsey is an alumni of Broad Run High School and spent a lot of time with Cos while she was a basketball manager. Chelsey is currently a teacher and encompasses many of Costello's giving and loving attributes. Chelsey will help schedule and run fundraising events for the foundation.
John Costello III, Member at Large
John Costello is Coach Costello’s eldest son. John lives in South Carolina where he runs a successful real estate company. Coach Cos and John were very close, and Cos would frequently express his pride and admiration about his son to anyone who would listen. John will be a liaison for communication to family and friends near and far.
Shannon Costello, Member at Large
Shannon Costello is Coach Costello's youngest daughter. Costello was so proud of her hard work and said that she was a "bulldog" in the workplace. He would frequently say, "Tom, she's KILLING it!" Shannon will be an at-large member, help bring ideas to the organization and help connect us with various companies and people.
Joe Costello, Member at Large
Joe Costello is Coach Costello's second son who lives in California. Joe is a musician and always made Coach laugh with his carefree and laid back attitude. Joe will be an at-large member and help with community outreach.
Pat Cassidy, Member at Large
Pat Cassidy is a teacher and coach at Broad Run High School. Him and Cos worked together for 20 years and were best friends. Pat and Cos were jokingly known as the “Mayors of Ashburn” since they know everyone! Pat will be a liaison for the foundation in the Ashburn community.
